Let's remember how great this past season has been and how well it juggled a huge number of characters and storylines. Remember the journey, because the destination is a bit of a disappointment. Go to Full Review

Unforgivably cancelled after its second season, Young Justice had a fantastic animation style, and it boasted some superb storytelling. Go to Full Review

What Young Justice did best, however, was that it relied on a character - driven narrative and pulled it off to great effect - remaining to this day the most emotionally devastating animated series out there. Go to Full Review

Season 2 of Young Justice lets us know right off the bat that it'll be packed with new characters from DC Comics. Go to Full Review

[Season 2] had moments of truly elevating awesomeness but was never consistently off the charts amazing. Still, it was one of the best-looking animated series on the air, always exciting, and (perhaps too) full of great characters. Go to Full Review

Kalissa H. @kali_416 Feb 21 I liked this season better than the first. I was entertained. Episode 6 was great. See more Stephen C @bob25009 Nov 13 20 successful Cartoon Network episodes. See more Andre K @RT14775348 Sep 4 Same great characters, some new some from past season. See more Dozee T @RT17996683 09/22/2024 If this season feels like the peak of the series. It's because it rightly deserves it. So much happens but the creatives still manage to wrangle in a significant amount of substance to the story, that it just leaves one breathless by the end. See more Matthew M @RT00257781 12/11/2023 This is my favorite season of YJ to date. Some of our older alumni have graduated and we've introduced great new characters. The story that weaves together this season is incredible, and not a single episode feels like wasted filler. Super impressive series of television. Also, the tone got a little more mature. See more Sam W @RT71524083 12/06/2023 Season 1 had quickly put Young Justice in my top 5 favorite shows, and I couldn't wait to pick up the story in Season 2. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to force myself more than three episodes in (so take this review for what it's worth). Invasion seems to take the legwork of story-building and character development that S1 established and tosses it into the dump. Are the old characters and the over-arching plot still there? Sure. But what S1 did was give us a small batch of awesome characters that we got to know; we saw them form relationships, and we saw each one grow as time went on. S2, however, begins by jumping five years into the future, bypassing so much character development that could have unfolded organically over several seasons. It takes the character's we've just gotten invested in, and seemingly skips to the end of their arc, where much of what we loved about them is but a memory. There are allusions (muttered almost in passing) to what has happened in the time between seasons, but it's really insufficient compared to the quality of character development we saw in S1. Besides the time jump (which again, felt completely unnecessary to advance the plot established and left lingering in S1), there are loads of new characters thrown in the mix without any proper introductions. Unlike our young heroes from the first season, the way they haphazardly flood us with new characters leaves me finding them rather interesting. Perhaps it gets better, but I can't bear to see what I loved further ruined. If you're not all that attached to the first season, Invasion is probably a fairly-decent, average animated superhero show. Given the momentum from season one, it seems poor decisions were made for season two to become only average. See more Read all reviews
