  • Moved to Spain with her mother as a baby, and returned to England at age 4. Began her acting career in 1987 by taking part in a school production of Sleeping Beauty. Took a gap year after school and travelled around Europe, Thailand and the United States. Played Elaine in the New Vic's 2005 production of The Graduate. For her role in Sense and Sensibility in 2008, she bought an electric piano and learned all the songs so that she could play them on stage. Appeared in two radio plays for BBC Radio in 2013, Votes for Women and National Velvet. Can sing soprano and play the violin, as well as act. Her maternal grandfather was James Hayter, who played the role of Friar Tuck in The Story of Robin Hood and His Merrie Men. Appeared in the role of Mary Boleyn in Wolf Hall in 2015.
