From the beginning of his career, James Marsh was always a director who was most interested in showing us the truth. His award-winning documentary ″Man on Wire″ about the 1973 tightrope walk between the World Trade Center twin towers was just one example of how Marsh could take a fascinating subject and ask the right questions to reveal the story within. Whether he was involved in a documentary project or a feature film, the same quest for telling the story of what lies beneath the obvious is what always attracted Marsh to the cinematic world. From telling us the story behind Elvis and his infamous love of food to revealing the drama behind the machinations between the British government and Irish rebels, the Oscar-winning director was first and foremost a storyteller.
