  • A favorite B-Western heroine of the early '40s, blonde Julie Duncan (aka Marjorie Manning) came to films in 1940 after having won several national horse show awards as the nation's top steeplechase rider. Her appearance opposite Republic Pictures cowboy Don "Red" Barry in Texas Terrors (1940) was so well-received that they were reunited for Wyoming Wildcats the following year. She later appeared as leading lady for, among others, Robert Livingston, Charles Starrett, and the Three Stooges (in Three Smart Saps [1942]).
