Audience Reviews for 12:01

Its groundhog day before groundhog day and edge of tomorrow. A man wakes up and relives the same day over and over, but this time there is actually an scientific explanation, making this movie more like a star trek episode then a twilight zone one. Unlike the 2 "relive the same day" movies i mentioned none of the days are skipped over in a montage, you get to see them all and each get a little closer. This movie does a good job of mixing is mystery, comedic and romantic elements, and it gets bonus points of coming up with the idea first. The lead guy was good but bill Murry is a better one. The biggest weakness of this film is its soundtrack,, 80's sounding synthonic garbage.

The story is a more serious sci-fi affair complete with giant science machines and bad guys that wouldn't be out of place in a TJ Hooker episode. Don't be surprised if you feel you have seen it all before.

This made-for-TV movie is a hidden gem. A sci-fi, a thriller, and a romantic comedy all in one package... sounds like a bad idea, but it actually works quiet well here. The plot is engaging and moves along quickly, and the intricacies of "repeating day" are well thought out.
