The sound of barrel-scraping during true-crime documentaries is becoming more and more frequent at Netflix these days... A Toxic Love Story is a welcome, if doubtless temporary, return to form.

It’s something weirder, something that plays into our modern-day fascination with tech, obsession with self, the need to be the center of attention, and using psychological tools to manipulate the vulnerable. What a tangled, mangled web.

I had heard of this case before, but the way this story was told, sort of out of order really, takes you out of the case. With that being said, the details are still shocking and worrying when you’re hearing them. The ending has a nice ending, fortunately, and this case doesn’t keep you in a sad or depressing mood because it ends with a solid conclusion.

Spoiler alert: She sleeps with other men to satisfy this dude's fantasies and claims she was too young (25) and get this... inexperienced to know better lol. So why not buy a condo with him lol. Then at the end after the dude gets put in prison for harassing her she claims she's strong for standing up to male authority lol. Yeah, she's so strong she slept with other dudes she claims she didn't want to just to satisfy him lol. Pure Netflix garbage.
