Movie Info

EMBRACE OF THE VAMPIRE (2013) stars Sharon Hinnendael as Charlotte, a timid and sheltered teen who has just left an all-girls Catholic school for a new life at a co-ed university. But an ancient evil has followed her here, tormenting her with disturbing nightmares and tempting her with forbidden desires. It is a hunger that can only be satiated by sensual pleasures of the flesh...and a thirst for blood. It's a battle for her soul... and one she's losing. But Charlotte is a fighter. The chaos and torment threatens to unleash her own inner beast, and anyone even close to her may find themselves embracing their own horrific fate. (c) Millenium

Critic Reviews for Embrace of the Vampire

All Critics (10) | Fresh (1) | Rotten (9)

  • The film is caught in a spin-dry cycle where there's a ton of conflict (nightmares, school pressure, peer pressure) but no mounting action.

  • In spite of this clear connection with its namesake predecessor, Embrace of the Vampire actually more closely resembles a different film: 2010's ballet thriller Black Swan.

  • Sexy? Yes. As sexy as it thinks itself to be? Sadly, no.

The supernatural thriller Embrace of the Vampire is an inane and pointless remake. The story follows a college student named Charlotte who receives an athletic scholarship to an elite college, but things get complicated when she discovers that she's a vampire hunter. The writing is awful, as the plot barely makes sense and the characters have no depth. Additionally, lead actress Sharon Hinnendael has no charisma, nor does she have any chemistry with her co-stars. While it try to do something new with the source material, Embrace of the Vampire is just as poorly made as the original.

Sexy vamp action from the mid-90's. Martin Kemp plays a vampire who needs to find the reincarnation of an old lover within three days before midnight or he dies. Enter Alyssa Milano, a pretty student with a long term boyfriend and who's still a virgin. So Kemp uses his vamp-like powers and slowly turns her into the sexiest bitch on campus. But can he convince her to become his? Embrace of the Vampire looks dated but is still sexy enough and Milano looks great. Due to its budget feel there's little in the way of gore or even full on scares but the sexy and at times eerie atmosphere pulls it along and makes it a decent enough vampire film.

Alyssa Milano stars as Charlotte in this Goth eroticism Crap fest. The story is basically a vampire finds his soul mate from when he was human & only has 3 days to put his things in order for he's going into Vamp hibernation. He's got a couple of obstacles tho'.. 1 charlotte has a boyfriend who's trying to deflower her. & its also 3 days before her 18th birthday. 2. Her friends are trying to get her to be as easy as them. & OMG! The Boyfriend Chris is Played by who I thought was, if not then a brother of Skeet Ulrich.. But its Harold Pruett ...(R.I.P.) who I used to LOVE in the Outsiders tv series & Hull High , also played in party of 5, & parker Lewis. & must have been quite young in an episode of 21 jump street! Ok sorry.. The movie is a waste of time, They should have just made it a soft core porn & not have bothered to TRY with a story. F

An interesting, surreal, erotic, somewhat strange vampire film. It sort of reminds me of Jean Rollins films, but transported to a 1990s college setting. It's not a great movie, but I liked watching it anyway.
