M @Johann33 2d This third mystery film follows Enola as she finds herself in Malta, on the verge of marrying Tewkesbury, when her aspirations are upended by her most complex and dangerous case yet: Sherlock has gone missing, leaving her with a mystery to solve. Enola remains as charismatic as ever, thanks to Millie Bobby Brown's performance, but the script takes a noticeable step down in quality compared to the first two films. The story is predictable, and the mystery is not nearly as well developed as those found in other Holmes works. Still, the film is entertaining enough to keep audiences engaged. Daniel Pemberton's score is not as memorable or noticeable this time around either. The visual effects also feel surprisingly unpolished, while Cavill's absence becomes particularly noticeable toward the end. Characters such as Edith could have added more to the story too, had they not been so sidelined. The landscapes are charming, but the story is missing that spark.
