Paranormal researcher Abby Yates and physicist Erin Gilbert are trying to prove that ghosts exist in modern society. When strange apparitions appear in Manhattan, Gilbert and Yates turn to engineer Jillian Holtzmann for help. Also joining the team is Patty Tolan, a lifelong New Yorker who knows the city inside and out. Armed with proton packs and plenty of attitude, the four women prepare for an epic battle as more than 1,000 mischievous ghouls descend on Times Square.

Frankly, if you're going to make a new Ghostbusters with a female foursome as the leads and you're facing a backlash from clanging dungeons of the woman-hating internet, it seems like it would make for an epic opportunity to troll them.

It brings the modern changes and updates that come with making this kind of movie in 2016 and not 1984, which equates to a high level of flashy CGI and blockbuster-level action compared to the saucy and subtle original.

Ghostbusters offered a fresh and fun spin on the classic testosterone-fueled comedy and featured Chris Hemsworth as a dim-witted himbo, delightful cameos by cast members from the original movie, and a wonderful breakout performance by Kate McKinnon.

the jokes fell flat ... I expected sooo much more from pretty much everyone in this movie unfortunately the writing/directing let us all down and this will be a horrible mark on everyone involved

TERRIBLE!!!! Not even worth the 1 star… the acting is bad, the script is dry. The fact that Aykroyd, Hudson and Weaver make appearances are the BEST PARTS!

I’m surprised that this Ghostbusters reboot wasn’t really well received when it came out. I absolutely loved it. I thought that the all-female Ghostbusters was a very welcome breath of fresh air. Patty was HILARIOUS!!!!!! I also REALLY loved the modern music and the CG Slimer was funny and cool too. If you’re a Ghostbusters fan, I would say go watch it. It’s definitely a LOT better than Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire.

Super funny and lighthearted! CGI was pretty decent. The movie does not take itself seriously which is honestly what gives it the charm it has. It's a childhood favorite for me, someone born in 2009.
