Still, if the film is ultimately disappointing it is in part because it begins so well, and there is a lot to enjoy before the over-the-top final act. Go to Full Review

I like Downey Jr, usually, with his dark wounded eyes, but here his performance veers between going though the motions and a look which seems to say, "Hey, what film am I doing again?" Go to Full Review

Ivan V @KidReviewsEverything 11 hrs ago Whilst I think it's a little overrated, Iron Man is an undeniable classic. With memorable performances across the board, especially RDJ, and just the right amount of heart, humour and metal, this movie had me smiling and chuckling all the way through. Tony Stark is such a fascinating character, but I never felt similar about Obadiah Stane as much as other people do. He just feels like typical comic-book villain. Comic-book movies also aren't really my kind of thing, which is why I don't have it a little higher. Still though, Iron Man is the gold standard for launching a cinematic universe, and you can see why when you watch it, and the way it ends is perfect.
