Both films combined gift Uma Thurman the role of her career and, for the first film, she received BAFTA and Golden Globe nominations for Best Actress...she was not recognized by the Academy, which is absurd, in retrospect.

It was great honestly. Loved the cinema— a great point to add: the music was always perfectly timed and fab! Of course have to watch the 2nd cuz it left me hanging(looking forward). Really good if you're looking for a 2000s action thriller. *BlackMamaba is a badass name lowk.....!! (▪︎So, some of the action scenes defied "somethings" but I get it.)

I found myself bored with the director's cartoonish blood fetish and weak story, without even humor to lift it. Without the outstanding actors, especially Uma, and the production design, this is a one star.
