When Earth falls under attack from invincible aliens, no military unit in the world is able to beat them. Maj. William Cage (Tom Cruise), an officer who has never seen combat, is assigned to a suicide mission. Killed within moments, Cage finds himself thrown into a time loop, in which he relives the same brutal fight -- and his death -- over and over again. However, Cage's fighting skills improve with each encore, bringing him and a comrade (Emily Blunt) ever closer to defeating the aliens.

Another romance via time loop, but with Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt. I wish this had somehow acknowledged its Japanese source material, but still an inspired interpretation.

Edge of Tomorrow is one of Tom Cruise’s best films of late. The framework and structure is unique and well handled for the most part and is still exciting, even though the final act isn’t quite on the same level.

I watched this with no expectations. It blew me away. Maybe the best movie I’ve ever seen. Nothing crazy in terms of cinema, acting, storytelling, it was all just very well done. The best time travel story ever told. Funny but more action than comedy, with an optimal portion of romance and drama (not much but enough to make it feel more meaningful). I can’t recommend this movie enough. 10 stars

One of the most underrated sci-fi movies there is. Tom Cruise also breaks type and plays a cowardly soldier who brings comedic depth to the film. A sequel is a MUST!

Edge of Tomorrow is one of the best sci-fi action thrillers, combining a smart time-loop concept with fast-paced action and strong storytelling. The film stays highly engaging throughout, with a perfect balance of action, concept, and character development. The standout element is the character arc of William Cage, played by Tom Cruise, who evolves from a coward into a tough and strategic fighter. The chemistry between him and Emily Blunt adds emotional depth to the story. The action, visuals, music, and world-building are all top-notch, making the movie a complete package. The only minor drawback is that some training sequences feel slightly repetitive. Overall, Edge of Tomorrow delivers a highly entertaining and satisfying experience with strong performances and a well-executed concept.

Knew this would be a great film to watch. Favourite genre and enjoyable as always with TC in the film with his on screen presence purveying a convincingly good character role and developing storyline that remains intriguing throughout the whole film. It’s one of a few films I have watched a few times since its release; the other being Minority Report, also with TC as a main character and felt was worth adding to my online Apple streaming collection.
