It's perhaps the most salacious of the films...; thrilling and tragic and serving to add dimensionality and depth to our main characters on their road to vengeance.
Baby Cart In Peril doesn't have Misumi's flair but it is in many ways a stronger film.
It just wouldn't be a LONE WOLF AND CUB movie if somebody wasn't violently killed before the opening credits.
the fourth film and quite possibly the best of the series. every scene is beautiful...and bloody! about 200 guys are killed in the final showdown with the yagyu clan. baby cart now equipped with gatling guns! great fun for a rainy saturday afternoon. i wish i hadn't put it off so long
Aside from the first Lone Wolf and Cub, this is the best in the series. And I don't say this because the opening shot in the movie is of a cool tattoo on a naked boob. As always, the direction is tight, the sword fights are fantastic and a beautiful character who flashes her opponents in battle is never a dealbreaker. I dug how the story tied in with Ogami Itto's origins a bit more, but for as entertaining and over the top the final battle was, I'm still not sure how I feel about it. Damn good stuff either way.
Cub shows he's a bad ass too.
