This Stephen King movie is awesomeness thanks to Arnold Schwarzenegger! This is SMASH TV (Arcade) before SMASH TV!!
Fun 80 action movie based on a novel.
The best part of the movie is Hogan's Heroes's Richard Dawson's performance.
Based on a story by Richard Bachman (Stephen King) and directed by Paul Michael Glaser, The Running Man is a film that shows a futuristic society in decay that has become desensitized and addicted to watching gladiator type violence on a television show called The Running Man.
Arnold Schwarzenegger stars as Ben Richards and he gives a solid performance. The Running Man story predicts the coming of reality television as the prime form of entertainment. The film also shows the use of computer technology to manipulate the truth and present an alternate reality.
This film has all the ingredients of a block buster complete with Arnie's trademark one liners with suspense and edge of the seat action sequences throughout. A must see for lovers of science fiction.
Ridiculous clothes and villains with barley any distinction are equaled out with Arnold's one liners and some entertaining fights
Jam packed with cheesy one-liners and creative killings, this movie doesnt take itself serious at all, but its fun as hell!
Classic Swartzeneger eighties flick played out in the future where reality tv has a game show that has prisoners stalked by hunters. The cliche one liners are abundant and so is the violence. Not in the top 5 Arnold movies but entertaining.
One of the best 80s sci-fi movies. Very underrated.
Very interesting premise delivered in a futuristic scale. Some cheesy dialogue can be forgiven but a decent all round fun “game-show” adventure.
Still ridiculous fun. A true Arnie flick
