The film serves as a perfect homage and a progressive link connecting the past to the future. As far as Sleepaway Camp is concerned, Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma is the reboot/remake queer audiences deserve.

Just a great film, with a similar mind-breaking magic of I Saw the TV Glow. Seeing this with a packed crowd is also great, a lot of moments that either leave you laughing, unnerved, or confused (but in a good way). This commands another rewatch as there is just so much to unpack with this.

Interesting enough movie. Certainly captures the 80s horror movie vibe well. It’s strange (which works for it). Sometimes it feels a little too on the nose with the whole sex/death connection (the main villain is called « The Little Death » so really no subtlety there from the get go). But it’s sort of a silly/ campy movie, so I don’t think it’s going for subtlety. It was clearly trying to be funny at times (and not always succeeding). But overall, pretty good!
