great entertainment. action, funny and very well done
This was so over the top. Everything that happened was insane. How does any of that happen in real life. How are the local authorities not involved?!? Jesus... Smh
Sorry I didn't read reviews before I ordered from Netflix. Some of my favorite actors. It was confusing from the get. I had to read the synoposis here to figure out what was going on re witness protection program because snitched on the mob. This was not made clear at all in the movie. I only watched about 15 minutes of it. Whose body in the car trunk that he buried in back yard? Was it in the trunk when car shipped? And customs didn't look in trunk? Why was there mostly ambient sound, and couldn't hear most of the conversations, dialog?, just could see lips moving. What was the reason for this? To cut costs? I like dark comedy but nothing funny as far as I could stand watching. I don't even like Mafia movies, unless the rare funny ones.
This movie didn't do well with the critic's as well some of the audiences and while I can see how this would not be everyone's taste I still have to disagree with many of the negative reviews. First, lets talk about this amazing cast. I mean you've got Robert de Niro, Michelle Pfeiffer and Tommy Lee Jones leading this movie and they all play thier roles exceptionally well. I thought Michelle Pfeiffer especially shined in this role. Then you have the teenage son and daughter who were also really really good. Take the moment the some is waiting at the train/bus station when he is sitting there and he sees the mob assassin's getting off the train and he knows they are their for his family. I mean talk about good acting you could see it all on his face as a tear comes down his face and he bows his head and they walk past him. The sheer terror he shows in his eyes makes you feel it all too in that moment. It is violent, especially at the end but this is one of the few movies where I would say that level of violence was necessary here. It's like the entire movie is slowly building up to this point just like this family's life has all slowly built up to this inevitable moment. It's not easy to watch but it's real. I guess it would have been prettier had they been tipped off long before the Mobsters had arrived in their little town and were able to flee before any harm was done but it just wouldn't of been real and the movie in my opinion would not have turned out as good. I think this is a really good film and worth the time to watch for sure. I've watched this movie several times and it's just as good each time. It won't be for everyone but it's great for what it is.
A few funny moments and that's all.
The Family is a film that has its moments, but lacks to grab the true weight of the situation the main characters are in. The plot has some serious "Really?" moments that take away from the great character portrayal by De Niro and Pfeiffer. 3/5 stars
Wow to boring to watch
Very good movie. Not an unheard of plot, but they execute it very well.
Puntaje Original: 5.5
Este es el resultado cuando mezclas una película de adultos con una de adolescentes, una mi*rda.
It was a good movie but sometimes it was getting a little boring !
