What to Know

Critics Consensus

A pared-down, no-holds-barred actioner that further cements Jon Bernthal as the definitive interpreter of The Punisher in a self-contained, marvelous story that goes above and beyond for One Last Kill.

Audience Says

A brutally unhinged peak-TV special, The Punisher proves One Last Kill is nowhere near enough.

As is, “Punisher” is pure grindhouse fare with more grunts and groans than dialogue; it’ll make you long for something with more meat on its bones. Go to Full Review

[Bernthal] is so fully locked into this version of the Punisher, physically and emotionally, that even when the material tips into excess, he keeps it grounded. Go to Full Review

Reinaldo Marcus Green and Jon Bernthal locate and explore Frank Castle’s essence in brutal, bloody and heartfelt fashion. Go to Full Review

Violent, pulse-pounding, and often harrowing, the special transcends standard comic fare to dive deep into the Punisher's dark and troubled psychosis. Go to Full Review

It feels too short and seems awkward in its attempt to introduce a larger narrative that doesn’t seem to have a resolution. That being said, overall, The Punisher: One Last Kill is as gritty, violent, and mature as you’d expect from a Marvel one-shot! Go to Full Review

Not amazing, sort of touching on things that would be better served by a movie... or a series. If you're going to have these ideas for Frank, they should be explored more deeply than this. Go to Full Review

andy L @RT24848194 17h ridiculous woke slop. avoid and save your money. See more Vincent R @RT19343234 1d Awsome! Strong men action movie. See more Robert C. @crandallrf 2d It’s like watching someone else play a first person shooter game with terrible sound mixing. I can see the result of every instruction direction called for. Bad guys are always men, mostly in masks (probably to save on cast costs) and every good guy is a woman in a skirt. Amateur filmmaking. Long holds on people walking around or futzing with firearms. A scene where an electric wheelchair chair bound woman rides off with her back turned towards the camera in the distance holding her middle finger up while spouting dialogue clearly into a microphone in post. Zero idea how this got certified fresh. See more Claudio C @Claudio666 2d The Punisher: One Last Kill (2026) Gives the Sensation of "I Want More" (12,518 – 20 Jun 2026 – Claudio Carvalho) In New York, the former military with PTSD Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) is paranoid, having visions of his deceased daughter, wife and friends. After eliminating the dangerous mobster family Gnucci, the matriarch Ma Gnucci (Judith Light) meets him with her bodyguard seeking revenge since he killed her three sons. She tells him that she put a prize on his head and informed his address; therefore, all the city’s criminals will chase him, and Frank needs to fight for his life. "The Punisher: One Last Kill" (2026) is a short TV movie (only 48 minutes running time), with a good story of revenge. Jon Bernthal has an impressive performance in the role of a paranoid man that is forced to fight again. My vote is seven. See more Jesse H. @RT78946895 Jun 16 I wanted this to be good but it so little. I watched it all the way through and as soon as it became something substantial, it ended. I thought maybe I was missing an episode or something but this is just 45 minutes of a lead up to nothing. I assume they'll make more now to continue this series or something but this was an absolute let down. Now, the acting in it is fantastic but the story detracts from everything good in this "movie". No happy ending at this massage parlor. See more Read all reviews
