Baruchel commits to the trash-talking, egomaniacal persona Carter dragged out for show whenever a camera was on, but we never really know who this guy is. Go to Full Review

It’s a defining role for Baruchel, and he eats up every second of it. Go to Full Review

A strength of Baruchel’s performance is that he never makes Carter a clown. Go to Full Review

Baruchel is soulful and funny in the role of Carter, which helps, since the tone of the overall film is sustained frustration. Go to Full Review

Baruchel gives Carter an extra-gravy-on-your-fries Canadian accent, but he never turns Carter in a cartoon, playing both the insecurities and the blind spots of the man who wanted to be called the "Mad Canadian." Go to Full Review

The Stunt Driver is a classic tale of obsession at the cost of one’s soul, and one sort of wishes it went deeper than that fairly broad idea. Go to Full Review

Mr Hollywood 2 days ago I liked the documentary style scenes mixed with the regular camera shots. Passed by quickly because it’s a good ride. Worth a watch See more Juan 2 days ago Thought it was going to be more comedic. It’s fine. It has moments that could be more impactful if the relationship between the characters were focused on more. It feels like we are speed running through the story. The movie leans heavy on Canadian Ken Carter's courage, or lack thereof, in pulling off an insane stunt. Because this is an "inspired by" movie, it had plenty of room to explore more themes. Heck, it made up Evel Knievel's "Everglades" speech just go for more drama. In the end you'll be wondering one thing, what ever happened to the American stunt driver, Kenny Powers. Check out Youtube, St Lawrence river jump. See more Daniel L @RT27139378 2 hrs ago The movie I felt was all over the place with pacing issues, had me questioning my thoughts on Ken Carter and felt weird on how long we were sitting at some scenes over others. The movie definitely had issues figuring out if it was a comedy or a drama "biopic" (part documentary/part comedy - hybrid). It made me laugh a bit and had its moments, but the movie at times was aggressively Canadian and felt Ken Carter would've been a big fan of the Jackass movies based on his demeanor. Movie was either average or right below average. Nothing special. See more Adrian B @RT578798033 12 hrs ago This was pretty good, honestly. It's funny and insane but it also has an impressive amount of heart to it. Easily Jay's best performance. He was really tuned into the reality of this guy, both with his gung ho attitude in the beginning and with how truly scared he got when it got too real. I was impressed with his range.
