In 1987, Jordan Belfort takes an entry-level job at a Wall Street brokerage firm. By the early 1990s, while still in his 20s, Belfort founds his own firm, Stratton Oakmont. Together with his trusted lieutenant and a merry band of brokers, Belfort makes a huge fortune by defrauding wealthy investors out of millions. However, while Belfort and his cronies partake in a hedonistic brew of sex, drugs and thrills, the SEC and the FBI close in on his empire of excess.

The film has roused censure for glorifying crime, with scant, awkwardly realised minutes paid to Belfort's eventual comeuppance. But surely 71-year-old Scorsese, a one-time wannabe priest whose work is preoccupied with morality, did that deliberately?

Scorsese is fascinated by procedure, by drawing back the curtain and showing us how things happen, though he keeps the picture nimble and entertaining enough to avoid burying himself in the minutiae.

"The Wolf of Wall Street" doesn't want to be lovable. It just wants to remind you how excessive wealth can get and catch you being entertained by it. You can't target excessiveness to hate without being excessive in its depiction.

Any one with 1/2 a brain can tell some of the stories are BS. He goes to a country club on queludes and no one sees him? His side kick is not believable. No one can use that many drugs and be successful. The only good part of the movie is Margot Robbie

The Wolf of Wall Street is a three hour film that moves with the energy of a party that refuses to end. Martin Scorsese turns excess into spectacle, using speed, humor and chaos to seduce the viewer before forcing a more uncomfortable question about why that seduction works. Leonardo DiCaprio gives Jordan Belfort charm, lies and self destruction, while Jonah Hill stands out through a grotesque comic precision that fits the film's tone perfectly. Margot Robbie, Matthew McConaughey, Jon Bernthal and Cristin Milioti also help make this world feel absurd without feeling false. The film is not only about corruption, but about the pleasure of watching corruption sell itself. Its greatest idea appears in how Belfort's own version of reality becomes part of the con. Scorsese does not simply condemn him. He makes the viewer confront the part of themselves that may have wanted to admire him.

Very entertaining. I tried hard to find something to dislike, but there’s really nothing—maybe a bit long, yet it never drags or loses rhythm. Everything works, and DiCaprio gives a great performance. Capitalism is shown without veils, and also without preaching. You either enjoy the ride or not, depending on where your morals land. Either way, it’s a modern masterpiece destined to become a classic.

It’s an ok movie to me a lot of cursing and there is some nudity in the movie and doesn’t really have a “story line” that I could follow either.
