The series is meant to be a family-friendly introduction to the insect world, but it is such a constructed product that it might as well be animation, and even young viewers are likely to spot its fakery. Go to Full Review

A Real Bug’s Life has taken the name and logo of the 1998 Pixar animated film, and too much of its artificiality. Go to Full Review

Tom H @RT79307306 11/19/2024 Too much focus is given on the CGI and not enough on the fact this is meant to be a light, educational insight into the life of bugs made for children. Not only did I enjoy watching it and learn from it, I also found myself rooting for the little critter protagonists. As for the target audience, it's a mighty fine watch for the kids too (be prepared to watch it on repeat!!). See more Stewie T @RT04054297 01/30/2024 1: Fun to watch with the kids, good use of special effects mix of real shots with some mind blowing scaled down camera shots that give you a real bug eye level view. - 5* 2: Aw.kwafina was ok, she keeps weirdly saying "she" for everything that was a "good guy" and "he" for anything that was "the villian" just seemed to really emphasize the she/he thing but other than that she is a good fit for kids voice overs. - 3* 3: The sounds are absolutely amazing, I don't know if it was digital or recorded from the little critters but it was so amazing to listen to all the sounds of the undergrowth and feel like you are really in there. - 5* 4: The facts, well, a couple of them are more like common myths if you know a fair bit about critters. On the other hand there is some really interesting facts just be careful not to believe everything though. I suppose unless you really study these things you would never really know and all in all it doesn't matter too much - 4* Overall a great way to spend some time with the kids. See more Michael W @mawilps 01/28/2024 This nature docuseries was really good. Awkwafina and the entire crew did a fantastic job on making this series about how insects live and what they can do. Some of them are pretty creepy to look at but it's still interesting to watch and you learn something about them too. If you haven't seen this docuseries yet, check it out sometime. It's a must see. See more Éric B @RT45921281 01/24/2024 What an incredible show, really brings you down to the bug scale, so realistic. See more Read all reviews
