Trevor Hale is an attractive, sarcastic and irreverent man who claims to be Cupid, the Roman god of love, and has descended from Mount Olympus to work on Earth. He tells psychiatrist Claire Allen that he was sentenced to Earth to "do time," and his mission is to unite 100 couples without using any godlike powers. Dr. Allen, who does not believe in Cupid, risks her career by releasing Trevor from the mental hospital so he can try to achieve his goal. Trevor, who gets a job as a bartender, regularly disrupts Claire's group therapy sessions.

Jeremy Piven's natural brusqueness is actually a delightful counterpoint to the show's inherent romanticism, Paula Marshall is a painfully under-appreciated talent, and the fun concept doesn't lack emotional subtlety. Go to Full Review

Yet rather than being Landlocked Lonely Hearts Love Boat, Cupid is charming - lively and funny. Go to Full Review

It is stylish, ethereal and fairly entertaining despite the preposterousness of the premise. Go to Full Review
