"Dallas" is the saga of the Ewing family and its massive oil empire. Patriarch Jock has three sons. The eldest is J.R., the relentless CEO of Ewing Oil. Less obviously malicious are Bobby and Gary. Over a decade-plus of backstabbing, inbreeding, lust and greed, dozens of characters enter and exit the "Dallas" universe.

Hugely underrated nowadays but a massive hit in the 70s and 80s, one of the most watched shows worldwide that quickly became iconic. This first mini-series set the scene beautifully. An incredible cast creating tremendous characters and phenomenal acting. Writing was excellent from the start with family feuds and intrigue that is compelling. Awesome theme tune. Great incidental music. Great film quality. Great fashion. Great mix of glamour and grit. Great dialogue. Following seasons were even better - brilliantly written and acted with characters and themes that are echoed in hit shows to this day such as Yellowstone and Landman as well as the family feuds, intrigue, cliffhangers and power struggles of Game of Thrones.
