TOMATOMETER

Critic Consensus: Season two finally finds stronger purpose with "The Chicago Way," a midseason finale with a cliffhanger clash.

Episode Info

The Legends travel to 1927 Chicago and quickly realize they have been set up by Eobard Thawne, Damien Darhk and the newest member of the Legion of Doom, Malcolm Merlyn. While everyone is trying to fix what they think is the mission, Jax encourages a reluctant Stein to share his secret with the other Legends. But Stein is taken captive and Sara must decide whether to stop the Legion of Doom or save Stein. Meanwhile, Rory gets an unexpected visitor and isn't sure how to handle it.

Of course, 'The Chicago Way' wouldn't be a midseason finale without a cliffhanger of some kind, and Legends of Tomorrow delivers just that in the form of its final scene.

All in all, this was a good episode, and a good way to end the first half of the season.

There's so much more potential in Legends Of Tomorrow's concept than what we've seen thus far, and I'm not sure if the show will ever have the freedom to explore that when it's tethered to broad superhero vs. supervillain plots.
