What turns “DTF St. Louis” from a fine show into a fascinating one is the curious nature of the relationship between the two men at its core. Go to Full Review

It’s funny, but it’s not really a comedy. It’s a procedural, but it’s not really a crime series. It is, more so than anything I’ve seen this year, its own special thing. Go to Full Review

Bateman does an unnerving but effective job of transmuting his characteristic smarm into something a little more fragile. Go to Full Review

DTF St. Louis is a surreal comedy that delivers its humor with a sense of sincerity that makes it all the more hilarious. It’s terrifically timed, and its seriousness offers some of the best comedy in years. Go to Full Review

It feels like being at a party where everyone is laughing hysterically, and you’re standing there wondering if you missed the setup. What ultimately sank it for me is how uncomfortable the ending is. Go to Full Review

Conrad deserves plenty of credit for portraying middle-age malaise in such a hilarious manner, his sharp, smart, if sometimes deeply disturbing observations brilliantly brought to life by the excellent trio of Harbour, Bateman and Cardellini. Go to Full Review

Rosalyn C @RT00765911 18h This show is relying on the audience finding both of the lead men funny, wounded, charming or emotionally redeemable - but their real-world associations make that impossible for me now. They give me the ick. Which is sad, because I used to find them both very watchable: Bateman had that dry, sharp, deadpan thing, and Harbour had that big, bruised, lovable bear energy. But now I can’t unsee the self-satisfied meanness with Bateman, or the Lily Allen stuff with Harbour, and it completely ruins the emotional contract of the show. See more Alex C @RT93507806 1d DTF St. Louis is one of the most frustrating shows I've watched in a long time. The pacing is painfully slow, with episodes that drag on endlessly without giving viewers much reason to stay invested. What should be an engaging dark comedy instead feels like a series of disconnected scenes stretched far beyond their breaking point. The plot is completely all over the place. The show jumps between different storylines, tones, and ideas without ever finding a clear direction. Just when it seems like it's building toward something meaningful, it veers off into another random subplot or awkward conversation. The biggest problem, however, is the characters. Nearly everyone is so annoying, self-absorbed, or irrational that it's impossible to root for them. Instead of caring about what happens, I found myself wishing several of them would simply disappear from the story altogether. See more Karen P @RT54294534 2d Unusual but gripping noir comedy drama mystery. Very strong performances from all involved. Slow burn but that fits perfectly with the feel of the show. Nice to have something a bit different but still top quality. See more Kindra M. @kindrameyer 5d Brilliant performances and such a rare complex story which not only feels completely new, but unfolds in unexpected, nuanced ways. See more Jeff G @BobbyBacala May 26 If you like gay porn, this show is for you! If you have an aversion to it like I do, you will not appreciate its inclusion. See more Gayle B. @GB-ATL May 26 Just odd - very slow and odd. Endured it for Jason Bateman. Would not recommend. See more Read all reviews
