Tv Season Info

The fifth and final season of the supernatural drama about antiques-store owner Melinda Gordon (Jennifer Love Hewitt), who helps the dead resolve their earthly dilemmas, opens with Melinda undergoing an emergency cesarean section--and then the show, as a whole, jumping five years into the future and landing at the 5th birthday party of Melinda and Jim's son, Aiden Lucas (Connor Gibbs). A fair bit changes during that leap, including Jim (David Conrad) having become a doctor, but much has not: Melinda stills sees and hears spirits, and still tries to shepherd them to the light. Among the cases that come her way: a chain e-mail that comes with a malevolent force attached; a haunted hospital morgue; and a radio station that broadcasts a mean-spirited skit thanks to the interference of a vengeful ghost. At the same time, she can't help but to worry about Aiden, who was born with both her gift and several others, one of which is the ability to see certain supernatural entities known as "shinies" and "shadows."

Critic Reviews for Ghost Whisperer Season 5

Overall, we were pretty impressed with this last episode and the fact that it ended happily with the family together and really no cliffhangers

Sep 26, 2018 | Rating: 4.5/5 | Full Review…

I feel like they cheated and instead of actual character development, they just jumped five years and since anything can happen in five years, they can write their way out of anything they didn't like previously.

A healthy run (five years) in the current television era.

Audience Reviews for Ghost Whisperer: Season 5

Totally disappointing, no scary nor suspensefull, silly and melodramatic, Ghost Whisperer had a disappointing way to end.

If not for Jamie Kennedy, I would give this 3 stars. I actually decided to give this a chance because of him. I'm a proud JFK fan. He played the role of ELI well. I found his acting to be believable and he has an innate likability. I did not and will not watch the first 3 seasons. The show is well produced, and has a few talented folks on the cast. Jennifer Love H fits the role especially well because she can cry on a dime, and there's plenty of crying involved in her role, perhaps too much. If not for Jamie Kennedy, I'd never stop to watch this. Jay Mohr is for the most part an incredibly talented person but in this his talent is wasted. The show itself is seemingly made for a young female audience, either teenager or college aged. The writing does not have any kind of depth to blow my mind. It's a soap opera without much really profound to offer. I feel like a dork, but this show is JUST good enough for me to watch because I'm a Jamie Kennedy fan. JLH is gorgeous looking but I sense a scary man eater in real life. I'd much rather date any of her characters! Not totally my cup of tea for a show, but it is something that the right viewer will like.
