The reign of House Targaryen begins with this prequel to popular HBO series "Game of Thrones;" based on George R.R. Martin's "Fire & Blood," "House of the Dragon" is set nearly 200 years before the events of "Game of Thrones," telling the story of the Targaryen civil war with King Viserys I Targaryen's children battling for control of the Iron Throne.

While season two of “House of the Dragon” starts strong, it eventually becomes clear that this series is at war with itself. Go to Full Review

The new allegiances in the finale satisfyingly blur the lines between the factions, but until war truly begins—and Rhaenyra embraces every aspect of leadership, including the unsavory ones—it’s still all table-setting, no meat. Go to Full Review

We know already that there is no happy ending, but it has increasingly seemed that the characters themselves agree. Go to Full Review

Ultimately, season 2 feels incredibly underwhelming, especially in its last few episodes. With a season finale that does not quite deliver, much of House of the Dragon felt like a promo for its next season. Go to Full Review

It's still a transitional installment, reinforcing what we saw before and promising us, now, a hopeful future. [Full Review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

Sadly this sophomore outing ends up being far more languid & uneventful, resulting in a rather curious season where very little happens to advance the plot, leaving the promises & potential of its previous season unfulfilled. Go to Full Review

Thomas B @Daboosa 3d Although the story isn’t as high intensity as the first season you can see its weaving in what it must, ready for a ramp up in what’s to come. Hopefully the next season fulfils in what has been laid before it. If it does it will be a tremendous achievement from all that are involved. See more Will C @Zbad1 Mar 24 I enjoyed Season 1, but Season 2 turned into boring woke trash. It became painful, it felt more like teen fantasy than Game of Thrones. DEI ruined the story. See more The Apex B @RT62839092 Mar 22 Not perfect like the early seasons of game pf thrones but definitely does a good job of picking up where season 1 left off and it's a little better then house season 1. See more Rowan C @RowanC3 Mar 7 House of the Dragon Season 2 was a good season, but it was also very dull. This show continues with the battle of the throne, and so many things took place. Aemond purposely injured Aegon, and he became Prince Regent, where he terrorized innocent people. Rhaenys (Eve Best) died fighting Aemond and his big dragon Vhagar, while Rhaenerya was trying to find new riders for Seasmoke, Vermithor, and Silverwing. She found the three riders she needed, and all of them united, causing Aemond to retreat in fear when he was chasing Silverwing back to Dragonstone. Otto was once again fired as a Hand, then requested back by Aemond, and we got to see him once in the last episode. Aegon has now left in fear for his life, and Alicent was supposed to kill him and open the doors to the Red Keep for Rhaenyra. Daemon also raised an army. The midness of this season is preparing for the peak that Season 3 is going to bring, and I am super excited. Overall, a lot happened, but it was just blank. See more Jay C. @RT47385444 Mar 1 Apart from the dragon scenes overall dull because of the ugly cast See more Matthew T @Mattonio76 Feb 22 Season 1 was slow but ultimately solid. Season 2 opens strong, yet quickly loses momentum after the previous finale. By midseason, the most compelling character is abruptly killed in an underwhelming dragon battle, draining much of the drama. Despite the title, it feels less like a saga of dynastic intrigue and more like a parade of petty, unlikeable nobles. By episode seven, I’d checked out—there’s little sense of moral tension or complexity, just characters trading complaints while the promised war stalls. The acting remains strong, which makes the weak writing and flat direction more disappointing. Instead of rising stakes, we get repetitive conflicts, muddled themes, and a once-formidable queen reduced to passivity. So yeah its a season of sue for peace but build armies, men are tools but women are just the best. This should have been on Lifetime. Welcome to the House of Karens. See more Read all reviews
