Band from G @Bandwagon45 1d I am really enjoying it. I think the actors are well casted and believable in the roles. We were all very sad when the tragic ending to their short sweet life. John never really had a chance as his life was always being influenced by those who came before him and he really had it all. Carolyn as well struggled with the fame right from the beginning and you could see the uncomfortable scenario enfolding. It truly was a tragic love story. There are always going to be some grumbling in how people were cast in a historical feature that involves people who are still living like Daryl Hanna. I don't blame her for feeling that way as they did not paint a flattering presence of her in John's life but I guess we will never really know what the real story is. Very enjoyable to me. See more Dubem O. @Zionwarrior 1d This is one of the best acted historical pieces I have seen in a while. The actors, the NYC scenes, the 90s music, the fashion on top of the LOVE. The main leads hold a strong performance that any person that has been in an intimate relationship can palpate. The build up, the scenery, the reference to the time period. It’s a 5/5. I can’t remember the last time I was waiting in anticipation for the next episode. Do not skip this one. Easily will be classic. Its started a cultural phenomenon. Great show sad story. See more Ken C @KenCobb61 Mar 2 It's an enjoyable, romantic show. Beautiful to look at and very stylish, as all of Ryan Murphy's shows are. The way they filmed John and Carolyn together, with closeups on their faces, makes it seem very intimate. They did a great job of picking the main actors, they really look a lot like the real people. The big exception to that is Naomi Watts as Jacky; I looked at her and thought, is that supposed to be Jacky? The scenes at Kennedy family functions really drive home how difficult it would be for an outsider to fit in, and what a tough woman Carolyn had to be to take it. John comes across as well-meaning but forgetful and somewhat irresponsible. Overall they did a great job, but I think Sarah Pidgeon is the real standout as Carolyn. See more Read all reviews
