Michele P @Raven1313 Jul 30 I will always wonder if the Kennedy family acted like cameras were aimed at them, even when they were alone. Unless someone who is actually within their circle "talks," the general public may never know. That is how I felt this series was filmed, particularly when John Jr. is speaking with his mother, or sister. The scenes between him and Carolyn seemed more "real," for the most part, but, even then, some of the dialogue seemed contrived, unbelievable. Daryl Hannah herself condemned her portrayal in this series. The actress playing her acts like a 12 year old, even seeking to steal the spotlight from a grieving John Jr. Of course, there is artistic license for the purpose of entertainment, but this "love story" is a tragedy. Carolyn and John acting was so bad and portrayed them as unstable , rudderless and untestable. Sure they struggled but I wanted to see more interesting facts . That family went through so much loss I wish they could have made them justice with a a more respectful and quality show and better actors . Hopefully something better comes out later. See more Larrie M @RT30320783 Jun 28 Excellent series - one way to convey an emotionally complicated story about two beautiful people falling in love and not entirely sure about what they want from each other or from life. Emotionally rich, lots of feelings on every level, not always translated but gracefully acknowledged as part of the human experience of getting married, being In love and feeling unfocused and unsure of how to trust intimacy. People Pleasers who really only had to please each other but had parental ghosts in their heads and got confused - I thought these subtleties were well integrated in a short period of time - and the actors were really good. As a whole, thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend as a slice of real life experience about being in a couple and a dramatic and horrifying ending that will make you cry. Reminiscient of The Crown and like The Crown it takes the viewer behind the curtain and imagines the story behind the headlines and does so with dialogue that crackles and is entirely plausible. What I got was an engrossing take: excellent screenplay, direction, acting. Outstanding casting, with one exception: Naomi Watts, a favorite, is shockingly miscast as Jackie Kennedy Onassis.
