While I'm sure it makes perfect sense to the algorithm, the result is an exceedingly strange, questionably authentic mix of moods, genre conventions and contrivances. Go to Full Review

While it follows the same patterns as a typical reality series, Julia Haart's story does offer a unique perspective that can't really be found anywhere else on television. Go to Full Review

Ayub J @RT52470292 12/07/2022 By far one of the worst things on Netflix, the real victims are Julia Haart's children. See more 08/26/2021 I'm not sure why this is called "Reality" TV when it feels much more like a poorly acted Mocumentary of business savvy people setting up a marketing scheme to promote a book and (I assume) a sale or public offering of stock in the company. The lead, Julia, feels like as much of a secular fundamentalist as the religious fundamentalism she left & hates. While money could buy her a lot of things, I don't think it's bought her "Seykhel" (wisdom-based smarts) and assume that in twenty years, there will be some serious disappointment. They feel like a caricature of some of the worst of American secular culture. See more 08/12/2021 I'm almost halfway into this series, and I'm captivated. At first it was hard to believe that it wasn't scripted with actors. These are real people, whose stories are captivating. Who leaves an Orthodox Jewish "fundamentalist" community to become the head of the top fashion modeling agency in the world?? See more 08/09/2021 This programme highlights Julia's need to control. In the guise of helping others liberate themselves, she is actually forcing her views on those around her… Controlling mother/religion may have been what she hoped to escape, but she is doing exactly the same to those around her. See more 07/30/2021 Watch one episode and you'll know why this show is terrible. The only genuine moments are the scenes about Robert's adoption story line and the few scenes with Julia's ex-husband, who appears to be a thoughtful, good guy. However, for one issue, I would give it five stars...For the rest of my life, when my daughter blurts out, "you're the most embarrassing mother in the world!", I can reply, "two words--Julia Haart."
