Rooster is an oddly frictionless show, a softball comedy-drama that settles for the easiest way through. It is resolutely, pointedly old-fashioned. But in that timelessness, it finds a certain comfort. Go to Full Review

[Rooster] captures a blend of comedic, sometimes absurd scenarios – consistent with Hiaasen’s Florida-based satire – with a grounded, emotional core, particularly focusing on the father-daughter dynamic. Go to Full Review

...the comedy more than fulfills a dual purpose: it's very funny and, incidentally, makes you want to empathize with the characters. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

Bill Lawrence siempre tiene alguna cara muy conocida como reclamo que es lo que atrae a la gente a ver el primer episodio. Vienes por su protagonista, pero te quedas por los secundarios y el buen rollo del universo que crea. Go to Full Review

[Charly] Clive is a relative newcomer to the screen, but the loveable pathos she brings to Rooster — not to mention the British actor's impeccable American accent — make her the show's standout performance. Go to Full Review

Alex C @RT93507806 1d Rooster is one of those shows that quietly wins you over - then suddenly you realise you’re completely hooked. What stands out immediately is the authenticity of the storytelling. The characters feel real and grounded, with flaws, humour, and depth that make them relatable rather than over-polished. The show also strikes a great balance between drama and lighter moments. It doesn’t take itself too seriously, yet it still delivers emotional beats that land. The humour is subtle and character-driven, which adds to the charm rather than distracting from the core narrative. Another highlight is the strong performances across the cast. Each character brings something unique, and there’s a clear chemistry that makes relationships feel believable. Overall, Rooster is a show that delivers a genuinely enjoyable watch. It’s thoughtful without being heavy, entertaining without feeling shallow, and it leaves you wanting to keep going after each episode. See more Ivn A @RT40878561 2d Rooster works best when it lets Steve Carell use his familiar comedic awkwardness in a setting where the character himself feels completely out of place. Watching him navigate academia, fatherhood, ego, regret, and institutional absurdity gives the season real character depth, and the show is often strongest when it leans into that discomfort. The father-daughter dynamic is worth exploring, and the campus setting gives the story enough texture to feel more than just another midlife-crisis comedy. The cinematography and color palette are also surprisingly effective, shifting with the emotional tone of the season in a way that adds more subtlety than some of the dialogue. That said, the romantic dynamics around Rooster and his family can get a little over the top, and the ending feels weaker than the rest of the season. It starts closing emotional arcs, then very visibly rearranges the board for a second season, which makes the finale feel less natural than it should. See more Deep S. @DeepShytt 5d Actually, i really love this show. It made me laugh and emotional in same times. Some characters will stay with me forever. Mr. Walt & Some of their students. I love the way this show ended. I heard the renew for the 2nd season. Idc about the negative reviews, i loved this show. See more Judith T @RT55101222 May 25 Why do all the men have to be child like vessels and all the women the adults in the room? Does this make any of them attractive to anyone? Characters are predictable in their need to not offend and the whole series to date falls flat. I had to read a book, scroll on my phone and talk to my dogs to keep watching this. Love Steve Carrel, but even he can’t save this shallow example of a show. Hard pass. See more Kristina M @Soap1 May 25 A good watch with some hilarious dialogue, but some plotlines worked better for me than others. See more dave B @RT51811019 May 23 OK, I guess. I did not find Rooster attractive as a character. The wishy-washy daughter drove me cray. It passed the time. See more Read all reviews
