By the time the titular horror finally arrives, it’s hard not to wish that something very bad hadn’t happened five hours ago. Go to Full Review

...the eight episodes have a tendency to draw out the narrative, complete with twists and plenty of horror tropes such as jump scares, without ever deepening it. The unspoken demand here is patience. Go to Full Review

Something very bad did in fact happen, and it is currently streaming on Netflix. Well, maybe not very bad, but certainly not worth the time. Go to Full Review

The sense of paranoia—so contemporary, on the other hand—that surrounds every last minute of Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen is almost otherworldly. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

Show creator Boston is no David Lynch, but, at its best, her dark kookiness marks her as a member of that late, great artist’s family tree. Go to Full Review

T J @Richard79 1d Insufferable Characters. 20 minutes in I couldn't stand it. Rachel almost kills herself, boyfriend and school bus full of kids? No big deal... she's smokes pot - she's cool! neurotically over-reacts to some strangers kid in the car and abandons her boyfriend in the middle of nowhere... oh she's soo brave! Some creep watches her in the bathroom BUT she has to stop for a gum ball from the most disgusting gumball machine on the planet after nearly being assaulted in the bathroom... super edgy. Boyfriend gets physically assaulted because the dumb B abandoned him and all he says is "gee shucks... .i guess i got my ass kicked babe!" who writes this knuckle-dragging crap? Everyone involved in this shit-stained script should reconsider their own existence. See more Fred T @fredthomke 2d Total waste of time. I can't believe I sat through 8 full episodes with such a crappy ending. There are too many things left unanswered, like the writers forgot "oh, yeah, we forgot to resolve that box thing" or some such misleading plot line. I HATE when there is no plot arc in planning, they just make things up as they go along. So it becomes a meandering, SLOW PACED meandering POS. Like "well, they gave us money to create something, so how can we spend the money?" See more Adam F @RT66040553 2d Very slow but interesting enough to keep me watching but just like Stranger Things, they just had to insert an unneeded homosexual element right at the end of episode 6. It fell off a cliff from there with a disappointing ending that made me swear off ever watching a Duffer Brothers show again. See more Petra M @Petramor 3d didnt like it much. ridiculous plot difficult to follow. wish i had used my time better! See more poetcrab T @RT74569694 3d Enjoyed this. The ending was a surprise. The twist along the way kept me engaged. The lead actress and all the actors are great. The mood is sustained throughout. Well done! Worthy of several different commentaries on marriage. See more Sean S @RT58556701 4d Writing so bad that it made my eyes bleed. Never before have 8 episodes of periodic jump scares felt so utterly predictable and lazy. Only saving grace is that the wedding itself would've been really good fun for about 50% of the attendees, top notch people watching. See more Read all reviews
