The Turkish Detective may not be madly edgy or innovative, but it’s really rather good summer viewing -- and it also takes full credit for the kofta I plan to make this evening. Go to Full Review

The team’s methods don’t quite stand up to scrutiny (sometimes they are downright ridiculous), but that’s OK -- this is a soothing fantasy of the policing system, where truth is definitive and always excavated in the end. Go to Full Review

The Turkish Detective isn’t a complete write-off. The pace is winningly brisk [and] Ikmen has undeniable charisma... Even so, anybody seeking a programme that’s inspired rather than, at best, mostly quite efficient, should look elsewhere. Go to Full Review
