Vladimir — Season 1

What to Know

Critics Consensus

Vladimir is a promisingly erotic and academic endeavor that cuts through the clichéd noise of typical sex comedies with inspired vigor and actors who make discussions about desire exciting, intellectual, and affecting.

Sometimes, Vladimir finds the right balance, while at many others, it feels as lost in the weeds as its main character. Weisz is having a ball playing this dangerous mix of cockiness and cluelessness, but Vladimir as a whole never quite coheres. Go to Full Review

Just as well it’s only eight episodes long: this cast of misfits would be hell to spend time with, but they’re certainly entertaining to watch. Go to Full Review

Vladimir is a darkly comic exploration of desire, told in eight snappy episodes (each under 30 minutes), that is so sly and incisive and delicious I wish I hadn’t seen it so I could come new to it again. Go to Full Review

Rachel Weisz is as reliably magnetic as ever as the unnamed, fourth-wall-breaking protagonist who's the very picture of a quietly furious wronged woman in this cancel-culture satire. Go to Full Review

It can make for ethically murky and tonally bumpy viewing... But it remains intriguing, thanks to playful, intelligent writing, and a strong performance from Weisz. Go to Full Review

On the whole, 'Vladimir' is an engaging watch, but one must reconcile with the shades of grey, the flawed characters, misplaced morality and the complex framework within which it mounts itself. Go to Full Review

Thomas D @Dzurs 2d All I can say is when people wrote ... "this was about nothing" it gives an insight into the simplicity that they want from a show ...although the show is messy and rings a little like Hillary and Bill (from years ago) but it I feel it is about so much. When the characters play that old game of open relationships things gets messy and hard to come back from )kind of like all the old literary classics)... acting is strong and script is smart ... it ran a little long but literary themes run amuck here ...and its fun to keep up ... Not every show is vor every one ... I felt my time was wasted with His/Her so there you have it See more Sebastián M @RT90514577 2d While Rachel Weisz keeps you watching, her co-star completely puts you off. That terrible casting choice ruins what could have been a much better show. See more Linda B. @byrnesagain 2d Did not like at all! See more Fabiane C @Bianedunham 2d As a literature teacher I truly identified with this series, it connects a lot with the literary world and it has an amazing performance by Rachel Weiz, the ending is a little dull but the series in general is worth watching See more Jules D @Julezzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz 2d If edging with no pay off is your thing... See more Jack L @RT78463705 2d Do real people talk this way? Even at colleges? Let's hope not. See more Read all reviews
