Xena's portrayals of race, gender, and sexuality may seem fairly normal or even disappointing now but were highly progressive at the time. While the show was white-dominated, there was a clear effort made to introduce a more diverse cast. Go to Full Review

It is surprising and exciting how the story manages to work comedy at the same time that it develops important aspects of the human essence such as self knowledge, spirituality and relationships in a serious and respectful way.
