Handsome American actor Zachary Quinto clocked in as an almost constant small-screen presence from the early 2000s onward. A number of his roles constituted extremely memorable ones: he was chilling as Sylar, the mutant psychopath with a flair for mutilating his victims' gray matter, in the superhero-themed NBC fantasy-drama Heroes, and (on a wholly different note) lent an undercurrent of necessary gravitas to his portrayal of God (among other actors playing the role) on the cult favorite Joan of Arcadia. Quinto also helped federal agent Jack Bauer prevent the spread of a deadly plague in season three of the blockbuster Fox drama 24, but left the series thereafter. In 2007, Quinto signed for his first major cinematic role, and a plum one at that: a portrayal of a young Mr. Spock in the 11th installment of the popular franchise, released to U.S. theaters in May 2009 and directed by Lost co-creator J.J. Abrams. The film was a smash hit, bringing Quinto much public attention. In 2011 he had a major role in the Oscar-nominated drama Margin Call, and he joined the cast of American Horror Story that same year.

QUOTES FROM Zachary Quinto CHARACTERS

Spock says: Fear of death is illogical.

Bones says: Fear of death is what keeps us alive.

Spock says: Fear of death is illogical.

Bones says: Fear of death is what keeps us alive.

Kirk says: Why would a Starfleet admiral ask a three-hundred-year-old frozen man for help?

John Harrison says: Because I am better.

Kirk says: At what?

John Harrison says: Everything. Alexander Marcus needed to respond to an uncivilized threat in a civilized time, and for that, he needed a warrior's mind - my mind - to design weapons and warships.

Spock says: You are suggesting the Admiral violated every regulation he vowed to uphold, simply because he wanted to exploit your intellect...

John Harrison says: He wanted to exploit my savagery! Intellect alone is useless in a fight, Mr. Spock. You, you can't even break a rule - how can you be expected to break bone? Marcus used me to design weapons. I helped him realize his vision of a militarized Starfleet. He sent you to use those weapons, to fire my torpedoes on an unsuspecting planet, and then he purposely crippled your ship in enemy space, leading to one inevitable outcome: the Klingons would come searching for whoever was responsible, and you would have no chance of escape. Marcus would finally have the war he talked about, the war he always wanted.

Kirk says: The enemy of my enemy is my friend.

Spock says: An Arabic proverb attributed to a prince who was betrayed and decapitated by his own subjects.

Kirk says: Still, it's a hell of a quote.

Kirk says: You used what he wanted against him. That's a nice move.

Spock says: It is what you would have done.

Kirk says: And this, this is what you would have done. It was only logical... I'm scared, Spock. Help me not be. How do you choose not to feel?

Spock says: I do not know. Right now I am failing.

Kirk says: I want you to know why I couldn't let you die, why I went back for you.

Spock says: Because you are my friend.

Kirk says: Spock, my display's dead. I'm flying blind.

Spock says: Captain, without your display compass, hitting your target destination is mathematically impossible.

Kirk says: Spock, if I get back, we really need to talk about your bedside manner.

Spock says: You misunderstand. It is true I chose not to feel anything upon realizing that my own life was ending. As admiral Pike was dying, I joined with his consciousness and experienced what he felt at the moment of his passing. Anger. Confusion. Loneliness. Fear. I had experienced those feelings before, multiplied exponentially on the day my planet was destroyed. Such a feeling is something that I choose never to experience again. Nyota, you mistake my choice not to feel as a reflection of my not caring. Well, I assure you, the truth is precisely the opposite.

Kirk says: This isn't going to be a problem, is it, you two working together?

Uhura says: Absolutely not.

Spock says: Unclear.

Kirk says: Where I come from, if someone saves your life, you don't stab him in the back.

Spock says: Vulcans can not lie.

Kirk says: Then I'm talking to the half-human part of you. All right? Do you understand why I went back for you?

Kirk says: You hear that. Congratulation, Spock. You just saved the world.

Spock says: You violated the Prime Directive.

Kirk says: Oh come on Spock. They saw us. Big deal.

Boyfriend Rick says: I don't know, it just seems kind of serious.

Ally Darling says: I'm sorry. It just um...felt kind of serious last night when you were doing me from behind, but I couldn't see your face, so.

Ally Darling says: I'm sorry. It just um...felt kind of serious last night when you were doing me from behind, but I couldn't see your face, so...

Spock says: This ship will not fit.

Kirk says: Will fit!

Spock says: It will not fit!

Kirk says: Will fit!!! I told you it would fit.

Spock says: I'm not sure that qualifies.

Spock says: KHAN!

Spock says: I don't think that qualifies.

Christopher Pike says: That's a technicality.

Spock says: I am Vulcan, sir. We embrace technicalities.

James Kirk says: When were you going to tell me that?

Spock says: When it became relevant, as it just did.

Spock says: I am expressing many attitudes. To which are you referring?

Spock says: I'm expressing multiple attitudes simultaneously.

Spock says: KHAAAN!

Spock says: I am surprisingly still alive

Leonard "Bones" McCoy says: Permission to speak freely, sir?

Spock says: I welcome it.

Leonard "Bones" McCoy says: Do you? OK, then. Are you out of your Vulcan mind? Are you making a logical choice, sending Kirk away? Probably. But, the right one? You know, back home we have a saying: "If you're gonna ride in the Kentucky Derby, you don't leave your prize stallion in the stable."

James Kirk says: I told you we'd fit.

Spock says: I'm not sure that qualifies.

Spock says: We will not fit.

James Kirk says: We'll fit! We'll fit! I told you it would fit!

Spock says: I'm not sure that qualifies.

Capt. Christopher Pike says: Kirk , I'm promoting you to First Officer.

James Kirk says: What?

Spock says: Captain. Please , I apologize. The complexities of human pranks escape me.

Spock says: Captain. Please, I apologize. The complexities of human pranks escape me.

Capt. Christopher Pike says: This is not a prank , Spock. And I'm not Captain , you are.

Capt. Christopher Pike says: This is not a prank, Spock. And I'm not Captain, you are.

Spock says: He said he wanted me to see something; the destruction of my home planet.

Leonard "Bones" McCoy says: How the hell did they do that, by the way? Where did the Romulans get that kind of weaponry?

Spock says: The engineering comprehension necessary to artificially create a black hole may suggest an answer. Such technology could theoretically be manipulated to create a tunnel through space-time.

Leonard "Bones" McCoy says: Damn it man, I'm a doctor, not a physicist! Are you actually suggesting they're from the future?!

Spock says: If you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable must be the truth.

Leonard "Bones" McCoy says: How poetic..

Spock says: You will experience fear... fear and face of certain death.

Spock says: You will experience fear... fear in the face of certain death.

Spock says: (sees Kirk sitting in Captain's chair) Out of the chair...

Spock says: [sees Kirk sitting in Captain's chair] Out of the chair...

Spock Prime says: Father!

Spock says: I am not our father.

Spock Prime says: Captain what are you doing?

Spock says: Captain what are you doing?

James Kirk (young) says: Show them companion, may be the only way to earn peace with Romulus. It's logic Spock, I thought you'd like that.

James Kirk says: Show them compassion, may be the only way to earn peace with Romulus. It's logic Spock, I thought you'd like that.

Spock Prime says: No not really, not this time.

Spock says: No not really, not this time.

Peter Sullivan says: These people have no idea on what's about to happen

Peter Sullivan says: These people have no idea on what's about to happen.

Spock says: Live long and prosper

Spock says: Live long and prosper.

Sarek says: Speak your mind Spock.

Spock says: That would be unwise.

Sarek says: What is necessary is never unwise.

Spock says: Live long and prosper
