Filmed entirely in a dirt pit in Italy, this Mad Max knockoff could only afford one car for the production (go from there) and then they've got about 6 dune buggies. But hair, hair they spent money on, so imagine a cheap Mad Max chased by 6 dune buggies driven by tough guys with great hairdos around and around in a circle and you got this picture.
It's 2019, and a nuclear holocaust has devastated the world. Soldiers of fortune Nadir and Scorpion find themselves in the unenviable position of protecting wanderng caravan of religious nomads from a ruthless biker gang known as the Templars. Starring Fred Willamson thats pretty much the plot of another so bad its pretty good action movie made in italy which has alittle bit of that Mad Max feel too it overall not a horrible watch just really have to be into these sorta cheesy B action movies.
Having seen EG Castellari's other post-apoc epic (?), 1990: Bronx Warriors (which is arguably not even post-apoc), I wasn't expecting much in the way of greatness. I should have though. This film is quit great and have an infinite amount of ridiculosities to keep you going. I really don't want to say anything about the things that happen because the elements of surprise is important in the laughs that spawn from this wicked little sucker. It's clearly a lower budget than 1990 but SO much better.
Also, for those that enjoyed the car aspect of Mad Max, the hero for this have a sweet (?) and ridiculous ride, a ride in which he involves in many a car related action sequence.
Not the best EGC I've seen, but certainly one of the best post-apocalypic flick.
