This is what makes South Park effective. They get the jokes in, they do the satire, but they show how it’s also pretty complicated and there are people complicit on both sides. Go to Full Review

J P @RT84003006 3d It’s not surprising that it received popular ratings. The title kinda broadcasted the outcome, but look, this is not hard-hitting, boundary testing, old-school South Park. The only thing "world-changing" about it, is the literal plot line. Matt and Trey have become wildly successful, and I’m very happy for them. They deserve it and it’s nice to see that happen for two Hollywood outsiders. But they themselves joke about the paradox of being caught between success and selling out. Randy is an analog of Trey’s own intellectual laziness and distance from his original motivations. You can’t be the angry young, outrageous rebels with characters like Starvin’ Marvin and plots like City Sushi when you’re 50-something and living in the future, so they can’t really be held responsible for their evolution. It’s no longer a labor of love, but a product intended to be palatable to the consumer. Ben and Jerry sold out to Unilever. Matt and Trey sold out to mass appeal. See more William J @RT47779835 Aug 16 South Park perfection at its most classic (but obviously matured and wisened) best. See more Russell H @RT85733992 Aug 3 Ridiculous as usual.
