Aug 02, 2021Glenn Ford, Shirley MacLaine, and Leslie Neilson star in this oddball Westerner about a guy who decides to herd sheep in cattle country. Why? There's no reason given. He proves formidable to opposition against him though but is started on a collision course with the local head honcho, a cattleman. Why? Again there is no reason given. So what's the effort driving for? To prove that stubborn mule-headedness is its own reward? Or is this simply a charisma vehicle to let the stars merely entertain? If that's the case, then that's okay, 'cause that's what it does. Mickey Shaunessy steals the film as strong-but-dumb comic relief.
