See more Ellis L. @Scary_Tyrannosaurus May 31 I absolutely loved half of this movie, but I couldn’t get into the scenes not including my favorite guy ever. Ryan Gosling was so charming in this film. The character is imperfect, yet appears as a fantasy character it’s impossible not to fall in love with. Ryan Gosling did wonderful in this film. I still give the film a low rating, I didn’t understand anything going on, and I found it quite boring. So much so, I ended up skipping through the scenes Ryan Gosling was not in. But the ending I watched in full. It was spectacular, and the music and atmosphere had me afraid. I couldn’t tell if the next frame would be the last, and I didn’t want it to be. Instead it was just slow, plodding, uninteresting and one of those times where I powered through it hoping that there would be an amazing revelation that would redeem my time suffering through it. I’m about 3/4 done and so far, not. Would have had more fun watching a Looney Tunes marathon. One somewhat redeeming thing, caught snippets of some good old songs I hadn’t forgotten about such as God Is Standing By from The Soul Stirrers.
