FX's "Adults" is an ensemble comedy series about a group of twenty-somethings in New York trying to be good people, despite being neither "good" nor "people" yet. Samir, Billie, Paul Baker, Issa and Anton are five friends crashing together in Samir's childhood home, where they share their meals, anxieties and, occasionally, toothbrushes. The show puts a slightly heightened twist on the wins, losses and humiliations of starting out in the adult world. Whether they're trying to get ahead at work, navigating the healthcare system, hosting a dinner party or dating in the age of Find My Friends, the group is finding that nothing about the real world is simple, and all their best intentions tend to make things worse. These friends are works-in-progress, brimming with bad ideas and whatever their latest "theory of adulthood" might be. But there's one thing they consistently get right: showing up for each other.

Adults prioritizes its humor above all, so even when the subject matter of season two feels played out, the execution still makes it a delight. The show's charming quintet further cements its status as TV’s strongest and funniest Gen Z sitcom. Go to Full Review

Adults won’t be the hangout show that restores the genre to its normcore, network-friendly roots -- if such a return is even viable in the current comedy landscape. Happily, it’s not trying to be. Go to Full Review

There's something not fully connecting with me there. But I will say, if anything, I do like the chemistry. It reminds me a lot of sitcoms... I think it's most like How I Met Your Mother. Go to Full Review

I wanted it to feel a little bit less derivative of all these other shows...And I do think by the end of the season, it finds its own groove, in a way. Go to Full Review

There are enough “comedies” on television that are actually dramas in disguise or maybe just aren’t that funny. Adults... actually commits to making you laugh out loud. Go to Full Review
