FX's "Adults" is an ensemble comedy series about a group of twenty-somethings in New York trying to be good people, despite being neither "good" nor "people" yet. Samir, Billie, Paul Baker, Issa and Anton are five friends crashing together in Samir's childhood home, where they share their meals, anxieties and, occasionally, toothbrushes. The show puts a slightly heightened twist on the wins, losses and humiliations of starting out in the adult world. Whether they're trying to get ahead at work, navigating the healthcare system, hosting a dinner party or dating in the age of Find My Friends, the group is finding that nothing about the real world is simple, and all their best intentions tend to make things worse. These friends are works-in-progress, brimming with bad ideas and whatever their latest "theory of adulthood" might be. But there's one thing they consistently get right: showing up for each other.

Adults prioritizes its humor above all, so even when the subject matter of season two feels played out, the execution still makes it a delight. The show's charming quintet further cements its status as TV’s strongest and funniest Gen Z sitcom. Go to Full Review

Adults won’t be the hangout show that restores the genre to its normcore, network-friendly roots -- if such a return is even viable in the current comedy landscape. Happily, it’s not trying to be. Go to Full Review

While these people may not understand who they are, the writers have a very strong grasp on them, and this season is a marked improvement over the first as a result. Go to Full Review

While its characters often struggle with adulthood, Adults has faced no such growing pains. Season 2 is sharper and more self-assured than the last, with its already strong ensemble operating at the top of their game. Go to Full Review
