Tv Season Info

The second season of the demented show-within-a-show Cartoon Network series "Childrens Hospital" finds Malin Akerman joining the cast as Ingrid Hagerstown who portrays Dr. Valerie Flame, a woman with a secret identity who feuds regularly with Dr. Blake (Rob Corddry). Also, Henry Winkler comes aboard as actor Fred Nunley who plays insurance specialist Sy Mittleman, who becomes the object of obsession for Chief (Megan Mullally). Other plotlines from this season include Cat (Lake Bell) giving birth and dealing with the death of Lola (Erinn Hayes), a visit from Blake's brother, and Chief treating her adult daughter like a little kid during Take Your Daughter to Work Day. The program does an outright spoof of "E/R" with the second season finale which pretends to be a live episode that involves a technical mishap that makes the conceit very difficult to pull off.

Childrens Hospital isn't trying to change the face of comedy forever, but it's become a primer to learn who the funniest people working today are and what they find hysterical.
