Some great episodes, but it's hard to forgive the feeling that the writer was enjoying his ability to manipulate the audience. Despite that, it's character work is just as strong as last season, it lands more of it's ambitious ideas then it doesn't, and River Song is as entertaining as ever. The doctor's journey this season is so quintessentially them that anyone would struggle telling it with the same depth from any other character. A brilliant mess, to sum it up.
