07/10/2022 OH. MY. GOD! Cringgggge! I could not watch passed the 2nd ep with the dog named Lou. What they did to that dog just to get a collar on, and the NONSENSE that the show's trainer Matt was saying while he was traumatizing this dog further was sending chills down my spine. HOW IS THIS A SHOW? This guy talks to the dogs like they are people during very critical and important moments that should be left quiet or without such lengthy , stupid human conversation. They got 4 people, including 2 crew members that clearly did not want to do what the "trainer" suggested, to throw a towel over the dog's head like they were sequestering him, with noisy talking and while the dog already had 2 leads choking him, because "that's how you do it" the "trainer" said. I have watched plenty of Dog Whisperer with dogs like Lou and worse, with the same issue and just patience and calmness, building trust, and leading and guiding the dog to put on a collar that was afraid of it. Then I watch this show and I have NEVER seen anything so stupidly and carelessly done. That poor dog- THOSE poor dogs. This guy thinks he's calming dogs down by the way he's speaking to them, and it really just feels like he's talking to everybody watching him do these brute things, and also talking to himself to justify and convince himself that the "technique" is how it should be done. It's like he's in denial. UNBELIEVABLE. So upsetting. I can't believe this guy has a show. It goes to show how desperate networks are, after the success of the Dog Whisperer, to cash in on the dog owning and training market. Oooof. This is cringy and I would NEVER EVER let my dog, or anyone's dog, near that guy. Those poor dogs. How is this guy a trainer? Sorry, but i don't care about your sob story about the drugs junkie background and who turned his life around bs-- this guy just doesn't get it. I do believe he means well and cares for dogs, but he should be working with them in a different way- NOT "TRAINING" THEM. See more Read all reviews
