Magaro, a chameleonic actor, has always borne an authenticity that naturally draws focus, but “Omaha” makes stellar use of how good he is with characters who push back against the camera’s ability to penetrate. Go to Full Review

The movie that’s onscreen is still intelligent and serious. The ending isn’t happy, but it feels right. Go to Full Review

The slow build to the secret reveal is the intrigue in this one, using the roadtrip as the journey to that destiny. John Magaro wears the story in every frame, but the true MVP is child actor Wright as the oldest, bearing weigh that's too heavy. Go to Full Review

Anita M May 17 So very sad, but told about what happened in Nebraska that I had never heard about before. See more Lucia L. @RT39628433 1d It was heart wrenching. Details of the story were not known, the viewer can generally deduce what was happening, but you never knew the full story. As a parent, watching the children go through this was very upsetting. The two child actors did such a phenomenal job and really pull you into the story. I was in the middle…it was a good movie, it was just really sad. See more Steven S. @G0dJester 3d A beautiful and heartbreaking film carried by the cast’s ability to convey and captivate emotionally through body language and facial expressions. It does a fantastic job of building a narrative that is joyful and devastating throughout the characters journey. Highly Recommend See more Gregory A. @Moosetree87 4d Horrible boring movie. It shows why we all need god in our world. Sad, pathetic godless move. DO NOT WASTE 2 HOURS YOU WILL NEVER GET BACK. See more Ashish G @Ashishgunjal7 Jun 1 It is a worth watching movie if you enjoy emotional, character driven dramas. it is not a fast pace or action packed movie, but it is heartfelt storytelling, strong performances, and realistic emotions make it a rewarding experience for viewers who appreciate thoughtful cinema. See more Valerie C @Iamvalcameron May 27 Heartbreaking, Vulnerable, and Something Everyone Should See. There are films that entertain you, and then there are films that stay with you long after you have left the theatre. Omaha is the second kind. I saw it first at Sundance, and I saw it again the week it came out in theatres, It hit even harder the second time around. That alone should tell you everything. Director Cole Webley, in his feature debut, shows remarkable patience and confidence. He lets scenes breathe. It takes guts, understanding, and trust from the writer, director, and actor to make that work — and it did. In those silent moments, Magaro emitted love, shame, disappointment, and sadness with his eyes and purposeful movement. He trusts the landscape — the wide open skies, the long empty highways, the golden light of American landscape — to do as much storytelling as the script. There is a beauty to this film that sneaks up on you, and the guitar-based score that fits every moment without ever overpowering it. See more Read all reviews
