The joyless slog of the challenges thus far gives “House of Fear” the grim vibe of a “Squid Game” level-up. In fact, the only person who seems to be enjoying the whole thing is Knoxville, for whom “Fear Factor” is a steep downgrade. Go to Full Review

...the premiere kept falling apart and crumbling every time I tried to grab onto something, like I was trying to climb a rope ladder made from dehydrated yak intestines. The only thing that popped for me was Johnny Knoxville. Go to Full Review

The predictable game show features all the gross and dangerous stunts the franchise is known for. Go to Full Review

It turns fear into something utterly banal and prioritizes alliances, backstabbing, and gameplay over the stunts, which was the only thing the original Fear Factor had going for it. Go to Full Review

We like Fear Factor: House Of Fear for the stunts, as gross as they can get, and for Knoxville’s gleefully sadistic hosting. The house stuff is superfluous, but the episodes still move quickly enough for us to enjoy. Go to Full Review

Andy M @RT20228542 1d The original Fear Factor was awesome. This remake with all the reality TV bulls*** is annoying and takes away from the show. Trying to watch a bunch of whiny adults was painful. I struggled through 3 episodes and had to call it quits. See more Justin D. @JustinDavis Mar 18 Knoxville is a great host and the challenges arent afraid to push the limits. Love it See more Carli G @RT63390727 Mar 13 The constant animal cruelty in it is disgusting. See more Dale T @TheDaleThomas Mar 10 This is an excellent reboot of the classic show with the added bonus of a continuous storyline throughout the season. Johnny Knoxville is perfect as the host and they did a good job with the casting for this season. See more Lucien D @DESAR Mar 10 Utterly disgusting and gross and torturous to watch - I love it! I have no attachment to any of the contestants and the worse things they go through the more I laugh. I’m worrying about my sentiment on humanity, but it isn’t entertaining. It’s not high-brow at all, which is just goofy fun. See more J H @jayflare Mar 8 They took the worst concept for fear factor from the later seasons that nobody enjoyed and made that the focal point. Completely missed what made the first few seasons so enjoyable. No competitive nature, nobody trying to make each other lose during you contests. They picked the softest competitors possible and it's irritating just to watch them. It became a dating show, a TLC drama show, and less fear fear factor. You would think having Johnny Knocksville would have made it more extreme or more competitive but all it did was at least add one person that isn't insufferable to watch. At one point they're doing a competition involving heights and blindfolds. They do an interview and half the competitors talk about how they could die. You can clearly see a gigantic safety team, many safety measures even more than typical, but the competitors have to find a way to be insufferable to watch. See more Read all reviews
