In the Travel Channel series "Dangerous Grounds," entrepreneur Todd Carmichael trekked to remote, dangerous locations in Haiti, Bolivia, Madagascar, Borneo and elsewhere to search for rare strains of coffee beans. The founder of U.S. coffee roasting company La Colombe brings this same blend of boldness and passion to "Uncommon Grounds," exploring the culture of each country he visits through the lens of coffee in an effort to build his business and learn more about the critical role coffee plays in society. From Paris to Lusaka, Istanbul to Havana, Carmichael meets influential personalities, chefs and experts who share his fervor for exploration, adventure and, of course, a good brew, while providing him with the inspiration to devise new products for customers back home.
