Ed Westwick ("Gossip Girl"), Erika Christensen ("Parenthood") and Jeremy Sisto ("Six Feet Under") are among the stars in this unique crime-drama that explores cases during notable eras in Los Angeles' history, beginning with a serial murder case from 1982. The sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll of the Sunset Strip come into play as LAPD detectives work to solve the case. Alliances are formed as reporters, drug dealers and club-goers help the detectives find clues and catch the killer terrorizing their city.

What to Know

Critics Consensus

Wicked City falls prey to the style-over-substance stereotype of the decade in which it takes place - although it does have a killer '80s soundtrack.

Wicked City may borrow superficial elements from American Psycho, but instead of biting satire, it offers only warmed-over references and pop-psychology clichs... Go to Full Review

As bloody messes go, Wicked City is still fairly tidy, but it shows promise in the form of its burgeoning serial killer, Kent and his new squeeze Betty. Go to Full Review

The writing is cliched, the characters cartoonish and the action tedious, punctured by bloodshed. If there's a reason to watch, and I don't recommend that, it's only for the cool '80s soundtrack. If only it were possible to mute everything else. Go to Full Review

The show's intricate plotting and its complex female characters-the desperately ambitious McClaren, the angel-faced, black-hearted Beaumontaine-make it fascinating despite its flaws. Go to Full Review

Turns out, you need more than blood and Billy Idol references to make a prime-time slasher drama cool; you also need a better script -- and compelling characters that feel human instead of hokey. Go to Full Review

Andrei D @RT74856639 08/15/2024 More like a soap, with some pretty wild swings See more 01/07/2020 I loved the show and the performance of Ed Westwick. See more 03/19/2016 I absolutely loved it. I fell in love with Kent. So very disappointed it was cancelled. Loved Dexter too but in a way loved Kent more. See more 01/13/2016 i loved it! I thought it was totally gripping and was incredibly disappointed to find out there will be no more wicked city, such a shame! See more 12/30/2015 Reminiscent of the 80s but the ridiculous storyline and uninteresting characters made this banal series all the worse than it could have been. See more 11/04/2015 This show has blown me away. I'm really intrigued and waiting for more. I love Ed Westwick in this role. He is sexy and creepy and I can't wait to hear more about his past.
