Canadian country music singer Aaron Pritchett was born on Aug. 2, 1970, in Vancouver, British Columbia. He recorded his first album, "Young in Love," in 1996, after working as a DJ and performing in a house band. In 2001, he won a singing contest sponsored by CMT, and was awarded a cash prize as well as the opportunity to film a professional music video. Pritchett used the money to partly fund his second album, "Consider This," which was released in 2002. His third album, "Something Going on Here," was released in 2003, and was followed by "Big Wheel" in 2006. It was with the release of "Big Wheel" that Pritchett began to see increased radio play and success for his songs. The song "Hold My Beer" peaked at No. 9 on Billboard's Canadian Country chart, while "Warm Safe Place" and "The Weight" both peaked at No. 6, and "Done You Wrong" at No. 7. Following this, he signed with 604 Records, and the album "Thankful" was released in September 2008. Multiple songs from this album charted on both the Canadian Country chart and the Canadian Hot 100 chart. His next album, "In the Driver's Seat," came out in 2010 under his own label, Decibel Music, and in 2015 he released a greatest hits collection through Big Star Recordings. His next album, "The Score," came out in June 2016. The lead single, "Dirt Road in 'Em," peaked at No. 6 on the Canadian Country chart, and was followed by "Out of the Blue," which peaked at No. 9, and "When a Momma's Boy Meets a Daddy's Girl," released in 2017, peaked at No. 5. "The Score" was also nominated for Country Album of the Year at the 2017 JUNO Awards. Pritchett has also been nominated for and won a number of other awards from such organizations as the British Columbia Country Music Association, the Canadian Country Music Association, and the Western Canadian Music Awards.
