Jadyn Douglas
Born in 1985 as Joy Lynn Strand Pas in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Jadyn Douglas grew up in Nashville, Tennessee, where her father was a Southern Baptist Pastor. Douglas began her life in entertainment as Jadyn Maria and was 'discovered' singing at a wedding and signed to Christian music label, Sparrow Records. In 2004, her pop song "Rock You Senseless" was featured in Clairol's Herbal Essence ad campaign. She signed with Universal Music Publishing Group in 2007 and met Ne-Yo, who signed her to his label. In 2008 Maria toured the world as a supporting act for Ne-Yo on his "Year of the Gentleman" tour. In 2009, she released two singles, "Good Girls Like Bad Boys (feat. Flo Rida)" and "Trenchcoat and Shades." When, in 2011, she decided to take on the challenge of acting, she changed her name to Jadyn Douglas. Her first role with her new moniker came in the biographical film "Greetings from Tim Buckley" (2012). She had a guest role on the short-lived series "Taxi Brooklyn" (2014) before landing a regular role on "Telenovela" (NBC, 2015-). The sitcom, produced by and starring Eva Longoria, featured Douglas as Roxi Rios, an easily confused cast member on "Las Leyes de Pasión," the fictional show within the show.
