      American stock car driver Julia Landauer made racing history in 2015 by becoming the highest-ranking female competitor in the 62-year history of the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West. Born November 12, 1991 in New York City, she relocated with her family at an early age to the heart of NASCAR country in North Carolina. There, she became interest in racing through go-karts, which led to real cars through the Skip Barber Racing Series. At the age of 13, she became the first and youngest woman to ever win a Barber competition, which led to racing late model stock cars for Bill McAnally Racing in 2009. The following year, Landauer graduated from Stuyvesant High School and began her studies in science and technology at Stanford University; during this period, she continued to race and also competed in the 26th season of "Survivor" (CBS, 2000- ), where she lasted for 19 days before her elimination from the competition. Following her graduation from Stanford in 2014, Landauer returned to the racing circuit, where she competed for Lee Pulliam Performance. In 2015, she became the first female track champion in the Limited Late Model track division by capturing top honors at the Motor Mile Speedway and the Limited Sportsman division. Landauer reunited with McAnally to compete in the 2016 NASCAR K&N Pro Series West, where she recorded seven top-5 finishes and 13 top-10 finishes in 14 races, which ultimately earned her fourth place in the series championship - the highest ranking for a female competitor in K&N history. For her many achievements in racing, Landauer received the 2016 Driver Achievement Award, while her advocacy for women in sports and science/technology fields, she was named one of Forbes magazine's 30 Under 30 list in 2017.
